Clyde Everett Williams, a beloved man who touched the lives of many, passed away peacefully at his home on May 12, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving behind a legacy rich in love, dedication, and musical talent. Born on June 2, 1938, in Patrick County, Virginia, Clyde was the proud son of Dudley Williams and Bertha Murphy Williams, who raised him with strong values and a sense of community. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Earl Williams; and three sisters, Helen Roberson, Iris Payne, and Lillian Carter. He faithfully served in the United States Army for two years. Clyde's career was marked by a dedicated 25 years of service as a heavy equipment operator with the Virginia Department of Transportation. His commitment to his work and his community was unwavering. In addition to his professional contributions, Clyde spent many years as a cattle farmer, nurturing the land and livestock with the same passion and care he applied to every aspect of his life. His life was not only defined by his work but also enriched by his immense love for music. By the age of 25, Clyde taught himself to play the fiddle, sharing his extraordinary talent at the Floyd Country Store during the Friday Night Jamboree for many years. His mastery of old-time music earned him respect and admiration within the music community, where his performances created memories that will be cherished forever.

Mr. Williams is survived by his devoted companion of almost twenty years, Theresa Brown; Theresa's children, Christa Hennis, Terri Burcham, Daniel Hennis and his wife Melodie, and Joshua Robertson and his wife Jennifer; daughter, Rebecca Nelson and husband, Cecil; one brother, Nash Williams and wife, Donna; and four sisters, Sadie Martin, Opal Hughes, Nancy Hubbard, and Barbara Morrison; one sister-in-law, Opal Williams; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

The funeral service for Mr. Williams will be held on May 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the John Preston Williams Family Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at other times at the home of his sister, Nancy.
