Obituary of Colleen Guinever Arthur
Colleen Guinever Arthur, age 100, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2025, at the Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Colleen was born on October 25, 1924, in Montezuma, Iowa, to Ora Fudge and Irene (Miller) Fudge. She graduated from Searsboro Consolidated School in 1943 and later married Kenneth Carl Arthur on March 4, 1947, in Newton, Iowa. Together they raised four children: Alan, Kenny, Brett, and LeAnn.
A devoted homemaker, Colleen poured her love into her family and her home. She was a remarkable cook-famous for her pies that seemed to come together in mere minutes-and she lovingly baked wedding cakes for many in her community. She found joy in her garden and took great pride in raising her children on the farm she cherished.
Colleen is survived by her children, Alan (Barb) Arthur, Kenny Arthur, and LeAnn Poulos; her grandchildren, Craig (Amy) Arthur, Angie (Steve) Conner, Andrea Poulos, and Collin Poulos; and her great-grandson, Caleb Arthur. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth, her son Brett Arthur, her parents, three sisters, and two brothers.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma, Iowa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grinnell Friends Church in memory of Colleen.
Colleen's life was a quiet testament to love, hard work, and devotion to family. She will be deeply missed.
