Colleen Rae Clark, age 86, of Hubbard, IA was called home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 22, 2025 peacefully in her home with family near her.
Collen was born on February 6, 1939 in rural McCallsburg,IA. Her early years were spent on the family farm and then she moved to town to McCallsburg, IA. She was raised as an only child although she had a brother die shortly after birth. She started her education in Country School and finished her early education and graduated from McCallsburg High School where she loved sharing her softball stories. She then attended Waldorf College in Forest City, IA from 1957 to 1959 where she was a member of the Waldorf Choir and traveled to many places showcasing her talent. Here is where she met her roommate and good friend, Virginia Egemo. Here is where she also received her teaching certificate, which led to teaching for one year in Lake City, IA and 4 years in Radcliffe, IA.
Colleen met her main squeeze, Alvin Clark through mutual friends and a lot of time at the roller-skating rink. She could do amazing things on skates. Colleen and Alvin were married June 9, 1962 and lived on a farm between McCallsburg and Garden City. They raised three children, Cindy, Rob and Donita. Colleen could put anyone to shame with her work ethic, feeding livestock, doing fieldwork and still keeping up the house.
She met Jesus in a real, lifechanging way when she was middleschool age and has desired to live for him daily. She was a wonderful wife, loving Mother and a caring Grandmother and Greatgrandmother. Her laid-back personality, quick wit and endearing nature made her a joy to be around.
Colleen was a faithful member of Evergreen Church and later Faith Evangelical Church in Radcliffe Iowa.
She was very involved and supportive of her kids and grandkids' activities. Her listening skills and enjoyment of others made everyone feel important.
Colleen is survived by her husband, Alvin Clark, three children, Cindy (Jim) Holmes of McCallsburg, Robert (Machelle) Clark of Story City, and Donita (Larry) Winkelpleck of Clutier; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; Uncle and aunt Jim and Emily Hauan of Minneapolis; sister in-laws Joyce Mossman and Eileen Friest; extended family; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry in infancy; her father Merle Hauan of Thompson, mother Donna (Danielson) Sampson of McCallsburg, stepfather Albert Sampson of McCallsburg, father in-law Robert Clark of Radcliffe, mother in-law Gladys Clark of Radcliffe; brother in-law Russ Mossman of Eldora; sister in-law Judy Clark of Hampton; and other extended family and loved ones.
