Mary Catherine Hill, 75, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. Born on October 12, 1949 in Monroe County, she was a daughter to Kenny Harris and Mary Elizabeth Ray Harris and she was the widow of the late John Spruill and Thomas Hill. She lived most of her life in the Lackey Community and most recently in Greenwood Springs. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the area garment industry. Her hobbies included fishing and her taking care of her pets. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, and she was a member of River Bend Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home with Dr. Roy McHenry and Bro. Mark Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Easter Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons, John Spruill (Rebecca), Houston and Huze Ervin Spruill, Aberdeen; two daughters, Penny Jean Davis, Columbus and Loretta Lucille Mistrot, Florida; two brothers, William Earl Harris, Pearl, Donnie Harris (Lisa), Richland; three sisters, Janie Manchester, Florence, Judy Posey, Shreveport, LA, and Virginia Shuffield (Robert), Greenville; 20 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John Ervin Spruill and Thomas Hill; brother, Arthur Harris; and sister, Lillie Kennedy.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
