Connie Heilener, 76, of Galesburg, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at home.
Connie was born on March 12, 1949, in Greenbush Township. She was the daughter of Omer and Ruby (Jones) Vollbracht. She married Charles Woolsey. He preceded her in death in 1998. She later married Clarence "Red" Heilener on February 27, 2000. Red preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving Connie are her brothers, Jim (Elizabeth) Vollbracht of Kirkwood, Gene Vollbracht of Delong and Dick Vollbracht of Monmouth; nieces and nephews, Terri Miller of Las Vegas, Tracey Vollbracht, Tammy Rice, Teresea (Larry) Weber, Judy (Bill) Jackson of Florida, Lisa Paul, Heidi (James) Hawkins, Jennifer Rosiere, Amanda Mockley, Mike (Erin) Hoyle, Emily (Jeremy) Smith and Melissa Vollbracht, Carl Vollbracht, Jr., Jeremy Vollbracht, and Trisha (Terry) Hodges; stepsons, Ronnie Heilener of Wataga and Johnny (Terry) Heilener of Galesburg; stepdaughter, Gloria Hunter of Victoria; and step granddaughter, Sheila Hunter of Victoria. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brother Carl Vollbracht, Sr., and nephews Brian Vollbracht and Richie Vollbracht.
Connie attended Warren Schools. She was a home maker and worked as a crossing guard for Galesburg Police Department. She loved to garden and do yard work. Connie enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her little dog "Tootsie".
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory, Knoxville. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. A committal of cremated remains will follow services at Haynes Cemetery, rural Delong. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the family.
