Constance Gallo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 18, 2025.
With deep love and admiration, we celebrate the life of Constance ("Connie") Amato Gallo of Wethersfield and Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

Born in Middletown, CT, to John and Rose (D'Aquila) Amato, Connie grew up in Cromwell, surrounded by her large and loving Sicilian extended family in the Middletown area. She was a proud graduate of Skidmore College, where she cultivated her love of sports - a passion she carried into her adult life through tennis, golf, and bowling. Early in her career, Connie worked as a medical technologist in charge of the Serology Department of Hartford Hospital, breaking ground as a professional woman of science. She later dedicated herself fully to raising her family.

A gracious hostess and loving matriarch, Connie brought warmth and elegance to every gathering, especially at the family cottage in Old Saybrook and during holidays.

Throughout her life, Connie was blessed with deep and lasting friendships. From her childhood friends and Skidmore classmates to her neighborhood circles, she nurtured decades-long connections rooted in laughter, loyalty, and mutual support..

Connie was the beloved wife of Sebastian Gallo, sharing an extraordinary 64-year love story. From their first meeting in 1961, their partnership was built on enduring devotion, humor, and mutual admiration. Together, they created a life grounded in love, family, and joyful shared experiences.

She was a devoted mother to Laura (Robert) Amenta, David (Carrie) Gallo, Stephen (Sheila) Gallo, and Douglas (Catherine) Gallo; and a proud grandmother to eleven cherished grandchildren: Ryan (Crystal) Gallo, Jacquelyn (Timothy) Healy, Sydney Gallo, Hannah (Brendan) Granquist, Kylie Gallo, Jack Gallo, Bailey Gallo, James Amenta, Grace Gallo, Iris Gallo, and Hallie Gallo.

A private celebration of Connie's life will be held at a later date. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Middlesex Memorial Hospital Auxiliary at Middlesex Memorial Hospital. For instructions, please email [email protected].
