Chief Warrant Officer, Joe Kirby Morgan, Sr. (Ret.), age 90, of Livingston, Alabama died July 02, 2025, at Hill Hospital in York, Al.
Services will be Monday, July 07, 2025, at 11 AM at York Baptist Church with Rev. Leon Ballard officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Livingston Memorial Gardens with Bumpers Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
His parents, Joel H. and Carrie Lee (Tompkins) Morgan; grandson, Jason Morgan; brothers, Pierce and Harold Gene Morgan; and step-great-grandson, Noah Odom, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 41 years, Marie (Woolbright) Morgan; daughter, Lanice Morgan and son, Joe K. Morgan, Jr. (Laura) of Demopolis; sister, Lauree Livingston; granddaughters, Carrie Wilson and Laura Kathryn Lee (Joe); great-grandsons, Sawyer and Holden Wilson; great-granddaughter, Kollyns Lee; stepdaughter, Michelle Fuller (Burt, Jr.); stepson, Ilya Goodbread (Mary); and step-grandchildren: Belinda Goodbread (Gerald), Kelsey Steward (Joshua), Morgan Tackett (Allen), Rachel Fuller, Mack Fuller (Lilly), Samuel Fuller; and step-great-granddaughter, Ally Rives.
Mr. Morgan was born June 15, 1935, in Pike County, AL. After graduation from Pike County High in Brundidge, Alabama in 1954, he joined the United States Army. After serving a tour in Alaska, he worked for the Alabama Army National Guard in Demopolis, Alabama where he received the rank of Chief Warrant Officer (CW4). He retired as Administrator of the 167th Engineer Company National Guard Unit in Demopolis after more than 40 years of service. He received numerous awards including: the Army Achievement Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Meritorious Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. Mr. Morgan was a faithful member Of York Baptist Church and a devout Christian whom many considered their example and mentor. He had belonged to many service organizations including Demopolis Jaycees, Livingston Lions Club, and was a member of Demopolis Masonic Lodge #49.
Pallbearers are Michael Black, Tommy Deas, Jerry Anderson, Eugene Duff, Edward King, and Todd Gates.
Honorary pallbearers are All the former members of the 167th Engineer Company Alabama Army National Guard Unit of Demopolis, the Men's Combo Sunday School Class, Doris Linebarger, Mary Alice Snider, Mark and Terrie Moody, and Jack and Susan Warbington.
