Mrs. Cynthia Nelda (Hickey) Groce of Albany, Kentucky, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2025, in Clinton County, Kentucky, having attained the age of 91 and 7 days. She was born on Friday, June 22, 1934, in Cumberland County, Kentucky, the daughter of Frank Alvin & Lillie Frances (Hoots) Hickey. Cynthia was a woman of Christian faith who found joy in spending time outdoors, especially landscaping her yard and flower bed. She also showed great love and compassion for any animal she saw. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Louis Groce, whom she wed on Saturday, November 8, 1958, daughter, Donna Michele Groce, brothers, James Madison Hickey, Walter Thomas Hickey, sisters, Ruby Ozell Riddle, Inis Marie Hickey, half-siblings, Culbert Mike Flowers, Burl Hickey, Mary Riley, Bernice Groce, Zelma Groce, and Vergie Cora Jennings.
She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Hickey) Davis, sisters-in-law, Jean Thrasher, Lois (& Tom) Kemp, and grandson, John Edgar "Jed" Groce.
The graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 12:00 noon, in the Memorial Hill Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky, with Bro. Bobby Grant officiating, and burial to follow.
