It is with the heaviest of broken hearts we announce the passing of our Cynthia "Cindy" Ann Tate on June 29th, 2025.
Cindy was born on April 6, 1968, to John-Martin and Julia Vargas. She leaves behind her high school sweetheart and adoring husband of 37 years, Buzzy Tate; her parents, John and Julia; her sister, Amanda Zapata and her husband Steve; her sister in-law Janet and her husband Matt; a big, loving bunch of nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends.
Cindy spent 25 years as a beloved educator with Weatherford I.S.D., where she left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved each and every student like they were her own. Teaching wasn't just a career for Cindy-it was a part of who she was.
After retiring in 2023, Cindy eliminated the weekend trips to east Texas and embraced lake life for good, as she and Buz had always dreamed of. She found joy in quiet mornings fishing, hosting family and friends, and soaking up the sunsets from her porch. She could out-fish any man and she could draw up an Alabama offensive play better than Nick Saban himself. We know she's cheering "Roll Tide" from Heaven!
Cindy's creativity went far beyond the classroom. Whether she was baking cakes for birthdays or painting delicate watercolor pieces, she poured love and beauty into everything she did.
If you knew Cindy, you know it was very evident that she always pursued The Lord. We saw a glimpse of His goodness and His grace through her life. Cindy's passing leaves an enormous hole in our hearts. But we have hope in Jesus and know that she is completely healed, and we will see her again one day. We ask that you would cover Buzzy in prayer as he navigates life without his soulmate. And Buz asks that you would please pray for the whole family affected by this huge loss.
We will post Celebration of Life arrangements at a later time. Thank you
