Dakota Duane Skelton, 25, of Golconda, IL passed away Tuesday May 13, 2025 at Herrin Hospital. Funeral services will be held Saturday May 17, 2025 at 12 Noon at Felty Funeral Home in Carrier Mills, IL. Visitation will be held Saturday after 11 am until service time.
Dakota was born on April 1, 2000 in Carbondale, IL to Bruce Skelton and Jennifer Jolly.
He worked as a carpenter and liked to work on cars in his free time.
Dakota is survived by his father: Bruce Skelton of Carterville, IL; mother: Jennifer Jolly of Golconda, IL; son: Landon McEwan; daughter: {}; 3 sisters: Chante Potts of Murphysboro, IL, Terra Jo Tolbert of Carterville, IL and Whitney Rollins of Muddy, IL; 2 brothers: Bruce Skelton Jr. of Buckner, IL and Jessie Skelton of Carterville, IL; grandmother: Martha Millikan of Harrisburg, IL; cousins: Louis Skelton Jr and Amanda Swinkunas; mawmaw: Cindy Taborn; best friend: Tyrese Isbell; close friends: Bre Jeralds and Mary Anderson, and his dog, Paul.
He was preceded in death by his brother: Scott Skelton; grandmother: Gertrude Skelton and grandfather: Eugene Skelton.
