Dale A. Erickson, born on August 18, 1953, in Joliet, Illinois, passed away on June 3, 2025, in New Lenox, Illinois. He was a beloved member of his family and the community, dedicating many years of service to the Village of New Lenox in the maintenance department.
A proud graduate of Lincoln Way High School, Dale's life was characterized by a deep commitment to his loved ones and a passion for simple joys. He found great happiness in spending time with his family, fostering cherished memories that will endure long after his passing. Dale had an affinity for garage sales, where he enjoyed uncovering treasures, and a love for motorcycles, particularly his Harley Davidsons. He delighted in motorcycle rides, often accompanied by the thrill of the open road. Dale also had a fondness for dining experiences, particularly at Merichkas, where he savored Poor Boys made with "no cheese, no pickles, and heavy on the garlic butter."
Dale is survived by his beloved wife, Cathy Erickson (nee Sippel), and their four daughters, Melissa (David) Jones, Bryna (Cory) Coop, Megan (Eddie) Mosqueda, and Ashley (Mark) LaBrec. He was a loving grandfather to David (Anna) Jones, Devin Jones, Hannah Jones, Jacob (Fiance Brandi) Burton, Alicia (Lucas) Rowe, Timothy Burton, Nolan Grabavoy, Kyle Grabavoy, Bella Mosqueda, Lily Mosqueda, Ava Mosqueda, Hazel Mosqueda, Saige LaBrec, Jade LaBrec, and Zeke LaBrec, who brought immeasurable joy to his life.
He is also remembered by his sister, Karen (Herman) Beck, and brothers, Eddie Erickson and Richard (the late Shirley) Erickson, as well as a host of family and friends whose lives he touched.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mamie Erickson, and several family members including his daughter, Michelle Burton, and sons, David and Seth Erickson, as well as brother Robert Erickson.
A visitation will be held on June 8, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at Kurtz Memorial Chapel Ltd, located at 102 Francis Rd, New Lenox, Illinois, 60451.
Dale A. Erickson will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
