With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Buppa, Dale A. Woodke, who left us peacefully on October 21, with his family by his side.
He was born in Port Hope on January 17, 1948. After high school, he married his high school sweetheart, Pam. He worked at factories while building up his true passion, which was farming. He farmed for over 30 years. He was diagnosed with MS in 2006 and continued to farm until MS eventually took that away. He and Pam then moved to West Michigan to be near their children and grandchildren.
Shortly after being diagnosed, he took a trip to Lourdes, France, seeking a miracle. And although he did not find a physical miracle, he received a spiritual one. Though his life presented many challenges, he never complained and met each one with resilience and grace.
Dale loved spending time with his family, and they shared every holiday and special occasion together. Laughter was at the center of every family gathering, and he had a fantastic sense of humor and always had a sarcastic comment to give. Dale watched mass every morning on EWTN and said the rosary and Divine Mercy every day. He loved reading and doing Sudoku, and watching the Tigers and Lions games on TV.
His strength and courage will always be remembered. He leaves behind a family whose lives were enriched by his presence. Dale is survived by his loving wife Pam of 55 years, his son Michael (Sheila) Woodke, his daughters Jenny (Sean) Trudeau, and Angie (Jason) Geiger. He was a loving Buppa to eight grandchildren, Evan Woodke, Emily (Kevin) Klein, Carter, Nate and Max Trudeau, and Chase, Zoe and Grayson Geiger, and his brother, Norm (Gail) Woodke.
He reunites with his father Emil Woodke, his mother Clara Woodke, his father-in-law Herb Murawske, his mother-in-law Marge Murawske, his sister Shirley Muter, his brother Gary Woodke, and his nephews Richard Muter and Sean Murawske.
Visitation for Dale will be held on Sunday, October 26 from 2:00 pm – 6:00 pm with rosary to follow at Ramsey Funeral Home in Harbor Beach. The mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church in Harbor Beach, Michigan, on Monday, October 27 at 11:00 am. Luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to OLLH Catholic School and Hospice of West Michigan.
