Daniel 'Danny' C. Meyer, age 82 of Watkins, MN passed away at the St. Cloud Hospital on Monday August 4, 2025. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday August 15, 2025, at Ostmark Lutheran Church. A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM prior to the service at church. Interment will be held in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery in Watkins, MN.
Daniel Charles Meyer, the son of Benedict and Isabella (Lahr) Meyer was born in St. Cloud, MN on February 2, 1943 and graduated from Kimball High School. Danny owned and operated Danny Meyer Construction. His work included concrete work, sheds, pole-barns, decks, roofs, remodeling homes, and home-additions in Arizona. He married the love of his life, Mary Lou Kuechle on May 18, 1964. After her passing, Danny found love again and married Barb Cole on June 24, 1989. He often said that she came with good baggage, “her children”, who he dearly loved. Danny enjoyed his fishing trip to Canada, sunsets, telling stories at a bonfire, getting into trouble, yard work, ushering at church in AZ, going out to eat, dancing, helping people with projects, wintering in Arizona and spending time with his family, grandchildren, and special nieces and nephews. Danny was a member of the Army, Ostmark Lutheran Church, St Anthony Catholic Church, the American Legion, the Watkins Sportsman Club and Lions Club. He always said that he was a “good little boy in a big naughty world” and reminded his friends and family “not to do anything, that he wouldn’t do”.
Danny is survived by his wife Barbara; stepchildren Timothy (Elizabeth) Cole, Sheila Goeb, and Melanie (Mark) Thuftedal; step grandchildren Michael Cole (Kirsten), Steven Cole (McKenna), Jessica (Travis) Gjerdahl; Nicole (Alex) Ohnstad, Riley (Carly) Goeb; Cole Spohnholtz (Aly), Karly (Garrett) Havens; step great grandchildren Isaac, Clementine, Nolan, Raegen, Justin and Logan; Bradley and Bennett; Blaine and Brody; siblings Eugene (Sally) Meyer, Betty Uderman, Roger (Phyliss) Meyer, Peter (Marian) Meyer, Ben (Shirley) Meyer, Shirley (Tim) Bolling and Janice Dungey along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benedict and Isabella; wife Mary Lou Kuechle; brother Kenny; brothers-in-law Don Dungey and Earl Uderman, sister-in-law Maria Meyer, step son-in-law Peter Goeb.
