Darrell "Duck" Gilbert, born on September 12, 1950, in Manchester, Kentucky, was the beloved son of the late Homer Gilbert and Susie Bruner Gilbert. He passed away on July 8, 2025, at the age of 74. A devoted father and brother, Darrell is survived by his six children: Jeff Gilbert (Sue Ann), Sarah Hoskins (Cody), Trevor Gilbert (Paizley Stewart), and Bridget Philpot, all residing in London, as well as Becky McConkey (Avery) and Tina Parris (Frankie) of Lenoir City, Tennessee. He also leaves behind his brother, Eddie Wayne Gilbert (Tracy) of Louisville, Kentucky, twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his parents, Darrell was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Known for his work as a construction worker and his Christian faith, Darrell was a loving father and brother who touched the lives of many.
The funeral service for Darrell "Duck" Gilbert will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with Robbie Patton officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at Bowling Funeral Home starting at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, leading up to the service at 2:00 p.m.
