David Compton, 77, passed away at his home on Possum Kingdom Lake Wednesday August 13, 2025. A Memorial service honoring his life will be at a later date.

David was born June 11, 1948 in Amarillo to the late Helen Allene (Clark) Compton and Porter Lee Compton. He married his soulmate, Denise Banister, April 12, 1981, they lived in California and Texas during their marriage. David and Denise raised their sons in Grapevine, TX. He was a retired business owner / entrepreneur, working in the HVAC business for more than 50 years. He owned and operated C & C of North Texas, for 25 years and made countless friends through his business. David was self made and possessed an incredible work ethic. He had a way of connecting with people from all walks of life, from his clients to wait staff at his favorite restaurants and anyone he came into contact with. David had the mind of an engineer and the grit of a tradesman, he never met a stranger and was always willing to help someone in need. He loved Stevie Ray Vaughan, Harley Davidson motorcycles and time on the lake.

David moved to PK Lake in 2020 to retire but continued to support friends with HVAC needs until last year.

Survivors include; wife, Denise Compton of PK Lake; daughter, Jennifer Bibles and husband Charles of Fairview; sons, Kenneth Compton of Fort Worth and D.C. Compton and wife Billie of Fort Worth; six grandchildren; sister Kim Riley and husband Rick of Riverside, CA and his niece who was like a daughter Donna Arnold and husband Mike.

David was preceded in death by his parents, son Richard 'Rickey' Lee Compton, and brother Doyle Lee Wynn.
