David Lee Daughtry was born in Enigma Georgia to the late Mack Daughtry Sr. and Susie Daughtry. He accepted Christ at St. Stephen Church in Enigma Georgia. He loved the Lord and singing sweet melodies with the male choirs. David went to serve his country in 1964. After serving the country he moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan and attended Lake Michigan College. He started to attend St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Gray. David married Dorothy Johnson and to that union they had three daughters. In 1991 David married Kathy Whitelow and to that union two sons. David went back to Lake Michigan College while working for Auto specialties to take an apprenticeship training course in Millwright Machinist Skilled Careers. David worked for various companies throughout his life in Benton Harbor Michigan; St. Joe; Michigan City; Battle Creek; Whirlpool; Vinegar Factory; Ausco; Pemco; and Post Cereal Company where he retired from in 2005. David's favorite thing to do in his spare time was sports, especially baseball, he lived and dreamed of baseball. He encountered so many people along his journey of his life and some engaged with him as a brother like Paul Fraizer; Eli Burton; Ray Satterfield; Bob Soper, and Louis Joseph. He had a special God son Anthony Patterson that was all his and nobody else's God son but his. So many more too many to name, but if you ever met David Daughtry, you would never ever forget him. He was the original one of a kind of man. He was also a long time proud member of The Old Timers.

David leaves to cherish his memories his wife Kathy of 34 years; His Daughters Tmesia Daughtry and Dayell Daughtry of Benton Harbor Michigan; Sons Eric Whitelow and Nathaniel Whitelow Sr. of Niles Michigan; Six Grandson's Ja'Mal Hatfield, Mon'Taveon Johnson, Lamar Sanders, Aaron Whitelow, Kendall Whitelow, Antwone Whitelow.
