Timothy Willoughby Obituary

GREENVILLE, NC - Timothy Michael "Spot" Willoughby, born on November 16, 1962, in Huntington, West Virginia, passed away suddenly on October 17, 2025, in Greenville, North Carolina, at the age of 62.
Timothy proudly served his country with distinction as a member of the United States Army. Upon returning to civilian life, he dedicated himself to various professions over the years. He began with construction work and later was fondly remembered for his time at Chubbies, where he formed a lifelong bond with his dear friend, the late Brian Lassiter. Spot also worked as a prison guard, and after moving to Greenville, he contributed greatly to Alliance until his health no longer permitted.
Spot cherished many interests that he shared with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing trips with his father and children, forming memories that would last a lifetime. A lover of westerns, he found joy in the tales of the Old West. He also appreciated the thrill of surfing and riding jet skis with his longtime friend, Ray Gibbs.
His greatest love was for his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life. Spot was preceded in death by his father, Robert Pete Willoughby, and his beloved friend, Brian Lassiter.
He is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Eure and her husband Johnny of Winterville; his cherished children, Lorisha Martin of Cheyenne, Wyoming, along with her children, Roman Wilson, Alliquan Young, and Lyondon Moye, and son Harry Martin and his wife Caroline of Columbia, South Carolina, and their daughter Claire. He will also be missed by his brother, Archie Robert Willoughby of Greenville, and his uncle, Robert Carey and wife Deborah of Richmond, Virginia, and first cousin, Cynthia Dunford. His enduring friendships with Ronnie Peede, and Connie Poland, also remain a testament to a life well-lived.
A memorial service to honor Tim's life will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service in Ahoskie, North Carolina. In remembering Spot, we celebrate a devoted father, cherished friend, and committed patriot whose memory will forever be in our hearts.
