David Lynn Holifield
August 27, 1946 – July 3, 2025
David Lynn Holifield, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in East Prairie, MO, on July 3, 2025, at 12:01 p.m.
David was born on August 27, 1946, in Sikeston, MO, and lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and deep love for his family. He worked as a construction worker for Dickie Dockins for many years, earning the respect of his coworkers and community with his strong work ethic and kind spirit. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was married in 1970 to Sandra Lucy Smith Holifield, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by his children, Glen David Holifield of East Prairie, MO and Lori Lynn Holifield Hedges of East Prairie, MO; his brother, Duane Allen Holifield (wife Denise) of Sikeston, MO; his sister, Janet Fay Caudle of Sikeston, MO; three grandchildren, Hollie Hamblen (wife Ashley), MarLee Hedges, and Jenny Holifield; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, David was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Virginia Ryan Holifield; one infant daughter, Tracy Michelle Holifield; one sister, Nelda Lea Bisher; and three brothers, Glen "Gene" Holifield Jr., Rick Holifield, and Stanley Holifield.
David will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life service is being planned.
