David O. Killian passed away July 6, 2025, in Forrest City, having recently celebrated his 91st birthday.
Born as a twin on June 23, 1934, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, his six siblings all knew him as 'Buck'. He lettered in football and graduated from Tyner High School in 1953, then proudly joined the U.S.A.F. He got a job in Blytheville with A.T.&T., spent some time in a foreign country and finally settled in Forrest City in 1967.
After retiring, he went on to graduate from E.A.C.C. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as Deacon and choir member for over fifty years. He greatly enjoyed helping others and teaching his grandchildren how to catch the big ones at the cabin on Lake Hamilton and he enjoyed spending time with his favorite daughter, Lisa.
Special Thanks to the many wonderful caregivers and friends at the former St. Francis Assisted Living Center and at Crestpark Nursing Home in Forrest City.
'Dave' as many friends called him, married Ann Curtis in 1957, and she preceded him in death in 1983. They raised three bright and wonderful children; Lisa Sandberg, (Craig), Larry Killian, (Shanna), and Kendall Killian, (Paige), one sister, Carole Moon, (Jack), four grandchildren; Alexann (Britt), Zachary, Morgan, and Truett, and other beloved relatives, Jeri and Stephanie. After the untimely death of Ann, he began a lifelong companionship with the late Beth Jones. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Services will be held Graveside, 11:00 A.M., Saturday, at the Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City. In lieu of flowers, please anonymously extend an act of kindness to someone. Stevens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may log on to stevensfuneralhome.net for the online registry.
