David C. Mickelson, Sr, 71, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Marshfield Medical Center-Marshfield, WI.
He was born on January 25, 1954, in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Carl and Evelyn (Baumgartner) Mickelson. He attended the area schools, graduating from West Iron County High School in 1972.
David married Deborah Greenlund on July 1, 1972, in Stambaugh, MI. They celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary this year.
He was a self-employed logger for many years and a CNA at the Iron County Medical Care Facility for 10 years. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. He also enjoyed working on computers and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, David (Chris) Mickelson of Marquette, MI and Daniel (Danielle) Mickelson of Iron River, MI; daughter, Deanna (Steve Ryan) Mickelson of Iron River, MI; sisters, Patti (Richard) Nordstrom and Carol (Maurice) Gibbons, both of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Marcus and Lila Mickelson, Tessa Madurski, Avery Mickelson, Graeden Mickelson, and Seth and Dane Ryan; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Dustin "Dusty" Mickelson and sister, Suzanne Gill.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the American Legion Reino Post 21 at 212 Washington Ave, Iron River, MI (formerly Stambaugh).
