In Loving Memory of David Garcia Montes
December 30, 1936 – May 26, 2025
With deep sorrow and eternal love, we announce the passing of David Garcia Montes, who left this life on May 26, 2025, at the age of 88. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family.
David was born on December 30, 1936, in Mexico City, the son of Juan Garcia and Maria de Jesús Garcia. From an early age, David showed a remarkable ability to learn, create, and care-values that shaped his long and meaningful life. As a young boy, he learned to bake bread, a skill he carried with pride throughout his life. His love for pan dulce was a simple joy that always brought a smile to his face.
David was a self-taught brick and block layer, skilled in his trade. For him, masonry was more than a job-it was an expression of dedication, discipline, and pride. Among his most cherished accomplishments was having personally bricked three of his daughters' homes by hand-a true act of love and devotion, laid brick by brick.
On April 9, 2008, David married Anselma Nieto Domínguez, with whom he shared a life of companionship, joy, and heartfelt moments.
David found happiness in life's simple pleasures that brought peace and connection with his loved ones. He enjoyed fishing, trying his luck with scratch-off tickets, reading and watching westerns, and cheering passionately for Mexico's National Soccer Team and Club América.
He is survived by his wife, Anselma Nieto Domínguez, and his six children from a previous marriage: Martin Garcia, Maria Elena Garcia, Maria Garcia (Héctor), Angie Hermosillo (Socorro), Janie Hanie (Chris), and Laura Garcia.
He also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will always remember his warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor.
David was preceded in death by his parents, several sisters and brothers, a beloved daughter-in-law, a grandson, and a granddaughter-whose memories live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
David Garcia Montes was a man who lived simply but loved deeply. He found joy in his work, peace in his routines, and purpose in his family. His legacy lives not only in the homes he built or the bread he baked, but in the love he gave and the example he set.
He will be deeply missed, and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
Visitation will begin on Monday June 2nd, at 10am to 8pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday June 3rd.
