David Smith Obituary

David Lawrence Smith, age 76 of Burkesville, Kentucky passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, KY. David was born on February 27, 1949 in Cumberland County, KY to the late Joe Enoch Smith and Marjorie Gladys Lewis Cooper. He was a carpet installer for over 50 years and was a longtime employee of Brown's Supply Company. He was a United States Army Veteran. He loved race horses and cherished his horses White Echo and Sassy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Donna Combs, one brother Jeffery Smith, and a special cousin that was like a brother to him, Richard Smith.

Survivors Include:
Two Daughters- Dawn Manthei(Stephen) of Marrowbone, KY and Melissa Smith of Burkesville, KY
Two Sisters- Rita Silvers and Pat Brandon both of Crystal River, Florida
Three Grandchildren- Garrit Manthei(Analea), Lakota Riddle(Artie Klaff), and Kaitlynn Riddle
Two Great Grandchildren- Augustus Manthei and Behren Manthei
Very Special Friend- Todd Stephenson
and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends

Funeral Service:
Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main Street, Burkesville, KY with cremation to follow the service. Visitation will be on Saturday, July 12th from 10 A.M. until time for the service at 1 P.M. at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.
