Ellie Howington Obituary

Ellie Elizabeth Howington, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. She was 67.

Ellie was born in Ringgold, GA. She was the youngest daughter of five children. She attended Ooltewah High School, graduated from Highland Cosmetology Academy, and later earned an associate's degree in advanced chemical manufacturing from Chattanooga State. Ellie was known for her strong work ethic and retired from Dupont as a Chemical Polymer Operator. She loved working and all the people she met throughout her career, serving in a variety of roles at various manufacturing plants in Chattanooga – from Dixie Yarns to McKee Bakery, and a few in between. Ellie was known for her big personality, sense of humor, incredible generosity, and spunk! She loved fishing, dancing, laughing, and especially spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors. Ellie's family has comfort in knowing that she loved the Lord, Jesus Christ, and is dancing in heaven, shining down on us today.

Ellie is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Howington and Betty Brooks.

She is survived by her daughter, Crystal (Ben) Kearns, her son, Christopher (Crystal) Campbell; stepchildren, Kristen (Austin) Bradford and David (Katie) Timm; brothers, Johnny Howington and Dennis (Debbie) Howington; sisters, Donna Hinshaw and Judy Howington; four grandchildren, Elanor Grace Bryant, Blaine Kearns, Charlotte Kearns and Copelin Campbell; as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be Friday, October 3rd 4 p.m. - 8 p.m., and Saturday, October 4th 12p.m. – 2 p.m. at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow at Tyner Cemetery.
