David D. Villarreal, a cherished husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on July 17, 2025, in Park Ridge, Illinois, at the age of 77. Born on October 31, 1947, in Big Wells, Texas, to Estamislado and Amelia De Leon Villarreal, David's life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and joyful pursuits.
David's journey began in the heart of Texas, where he was raised alongside his siblings, Estamislado (Stan), Elena Saldaña, Francisco (Ali), and Rosalinda Villarreal. His roots in Big Wells instilled in him a love for the state that remained throughout his life. David's family will fondly remember him every time they think of Texas, a testament to the deep connection he had with his birthplace.
After moving to Illinois, David became a respected member of the Deublin Company team, where he served for 20 years as a group leader. His colleagues admired his dedication and hard work, which were evident in everything he did. David retired in 2009, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and camaraderie that continued to resonate with those he worked with.
David's personal life was as rich and vibrant as his professional one. He married the love of his life, Andrea, and together they welcomed their daughters, Melissa and Vanessa, as well as David Jr. his son, into the world. David's role as a husband and father was marked by an unwavering kindness and a boundless capacity for love. He was a man who cherished the simple pleasures in life, such as fishing, taking photographs, and traveling. A self-proclaimed foodie, David also enjoyed the art of coin collecting and had a passion for cinema, often found at the movies with his family.
His interests were eclectic, reflecting his adventurous spirit. David was a man who could appreciate the soulful sounds of Motown as much as the rhythmic beats of Tejano Music. He had a special place in his heart for the classics of rock and roll, the oldies from the '60s and '70s, and the iconic voice of Vicente Fernandez. His love for music was just one of the many ways he connected with those around him.
A lifelong Catholic, David's faith was a cornerstone of his existence. He reveled in the celebrations of Christmas and Halloween, two holidays that brought him immense joy and provided opportunities to gather with loved ones.
David was also a man who embraced the world around him with open arms. He was an animal lover, a trait that further exemplified his kind and loving nature. Those who knew David would describe him as not just kind and adventurous, but also as a deeply loving individual whose presence was a blessing to all.
As we bid farewell to David D. Villarreal, we celebrate a life well-lived, a journey marked by laughter, love, and the pursuit of happiness. His legacy will live on through the stories shared, the memories cherished, and the impact he had on the lives of so many. David's spirit, characterized by his warmth and generosity, will continue to guide and inspire us. Though he may be gone from this world, his light will never fade.
