Dave was born to Harold and Jenny (Potter) Wilson on Jan. 15, 1950 in Wild Rose Wis, during a large snowstorm. Dave fought an 8 year battle with cancer and died on July 1, 2025. His family moved from Plainfield to Bancroft when he was about 4 years old. Dave’s neighbors growing up became family to him. They had many adventures and all remained friends. Over the years Dave made many friends at each job he worked at, most jobs included farming and driving truck.
He married Jeanette (Swiontek) on Sept, 20, 1969, they shared almost 56 years of marriage. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Renee and Troy. Dave wanted his kids to grow up with some of the fun adventures that he had, he always felt he was lucky growing up in the country. Cars and horses were part of those adventures, donuts on ice was an activity that both he and the kids enjoyed. He was always proud of those two and was always there to help them through life’s adventures.
He was blessed to have two grandchildren, Braden and Jennifer. He loved to hear about all of their adventures. They blessed us with four wonderful great grandchildren, Shay, River, Myles and Miken. He was lucky to get to spend each day with them, they made him smile with all their little antics.
He was always happy to spend time with our friends at car shows and cruises. He was very proud of his 1966 Plymouth Satellite, he enjoyed many long Sunday rides with Jeanette.
Dave is survived by wife, Jeanette, grandchildren Braden (Kim) Hunkins, Jennifer (Dakota) Kramer. Great grandchildren Shay and Miken Hunkins, River and Myles Kramer. Brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his children Renee and Troy Wilson, his parents, Harold and Jenny Wilson, brothers James and John. Mother and father-in-law, Ernie and Ida Swiontek.
The family would like to thank Dr Asquith and staff at Rapids Cancer Center for the years of taking care of Dave, and the staff at Heartland Hospice for making him comfortable in the last days of his life.
