Dawlean (Ehrig) Richardson, born to Richard and Florence Ehrig in the community of 5-mile on April15, 1930. She grew up in the 5-mile community and graduated from Gonzales High School. After graduation, Dawlean moved to Pasadena, Texas and went to work for BF Goodrich. Not long after moving to Pasadena, she met Bob Richardson who after two short weeks asked her to marry him. They were married for 54 years. Dawlean and Bob moved back to Gonzales in 1958 where they raised their children.

Dawlean and Bob owned the Gulf distributorship in Gonzales for many years; she later went on to work at Deitz McLean eye ware in Seguin and then volunteered at the Pioneer village here in Gonzales. Dawlean, affectionately called Tootie by many and Nana by her grandchildren, loved people and loved her family. Dawlean hauled her children all over the state for rodeos and stock shows. At one point she decided to become a sheep farmer so her kids could show sheep. Tootie was not only mom to her own children, but she was also an extra mom for many kids growing up in the area. She was an extremely hard-working woman, number one cowgirl and was the most selfless person around. Tootie/Nana never asked for anything and always found the good in any situation. Tootie/Nana was loved by many and will be missed but she left her love here with us.

Dawlean was preceded in death by her mother and father, Richard and Florence Ehrig, husband Bob Richardson, son Cary Richardson, daughter Amy Kidd, son-in-law Tim Gray II and sister-in-law Wanda Ehrig.

Dawlean is survived by her daughter Sue Lester, son and daughter-in-law Keith and Shelly Richardson, brother Albert Ehrig, grandchildren Tim and Crystal Gray, Casey and Steven Evans, Kayla and David Hayes, Kaleb Richardson, Cody and Kaylyn Kidd, Kara and Justin DelBosque, Jordon and Natalie Jones along with 16 great-grandchildren.
