Dean Arnold Larson, age 79, of Isanti passed away June 26, 2025 at Prairie Senior Cottages in Isanti. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, July 18, 2025 at Strike Life Tributes in Isanti with a visiting time 1 hour prior. Interment will be in Athens Lutheran Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Isanti VFW. Lunch will follow the burial at the Larson home 3823 -259th Ave NE in Isanti.
Dean Arnold Larson was born on February 23, 1946 in Thief River Falls, MN to Arnold and Myra (Sorenson) Larson. He grew up in Grygla, MN and graduated from Goodridge, MN in 1964. Dean then went on to serve his country in the US Army and was stationed in Dachau Germany from 1966 to 1968. After returning home from service he was reunited with Joan Bredeson and they were married at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla on August 25, 1968. In 1975 they built their home in Isanti, MN where they have lived ever since. Dean was trained as a mechanic by the Army but spent the majority of his working years as a heavy equipment operator. During the winters when he was laid off, he would plow snow for the state. Dean loved fishing, hunting, camping, building things, shooting trap, and spending time with his family. He also enjoyed trips down South where they would spend their winters near Kingsville, Texas.
Dean passed away on June 26, 2025 in Isanti, MN at the age of 79. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by brothers-in-law Roy Nordby and Craig Barr.
Dean will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joan; children, Scott (Renae) Larson, David Larson, and Krystal (Dan) Emmerich; grandchildren, Anton, Aaron, Kylie (Amber) and Andrew; sisters, Marlys Barr and Joy Nordby; and many other relatives and friends.
