Joanna Barker Obituary

Joanna L. Barker, 76, of Lafayette, IN, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025. She was born on January 12, 1949 in Lafayette, IN to the late Chester L. Clayton, Jr. and Thelma (Fritz) Clayton. Joanna graduated from Jefferson High School in 1968. She worked for Regency Place as a nurses aide until her retirement. Joanna enjoyed scratching off lottery tickets, watching game shows, doing her morning chores, and going to the food pantries. Surviving are her children, Robert "Bobby" Davis, Emily Davis, and Summer Claxton; her grandchildren, Courtney, Joseph, Molly, Maggie, Eric, Nevaeh, Allie, Zoey, Austin, Hanna, and Sadie; her great grandchildren, Laney, Cooper, Reece, Mia, Charlotte, Cash, Kaide, and Lilly; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jim Clayton, Jackie Clayton, and Frances Mullendore. Services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025 at 1 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with burial following in West Point Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. I had the privilege of meeting Joanna at St Ann's. She was a dear sweet soul. Small world we discovered that Frances lived down the street from me. Rest in Peace
