Born on March 7, 1958, Debbie lived a life marked by kindness, dedication, and a deep love for both people and purpose. She spent 28 years as an educator, shaping young minds with compassion and wisdom. Many of those years were spent with Bastrop Independent School District, where she made a lasting impact on students, colleagues, and the wider school community. After retiring from teaching, Debbie continued to nurture others through her warmth, generosity, and lifelong friendships.
Debbie is survived by her loving daughter, Kirstin Dean, and her son-in-law, Jeremiah Dean; her adored grandchildren, Ernest and Kathryn Trevino; her brother, Keith Gibbs, and his wife, Carolyn Gibbs; and her niece and nephew, Ashley and Keifer Gibbs. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured herself into every moment she spent with them.
Outside of her work in education, Debbie was known for her passion for life. She was a dedicated Houston Astros fan, always ready to cheer on her team. She loved trying new restaurants, traveling to new places, and spending time with her beloved dogs, who were more like family than pets.
Debbie will be remembered for her generous spirit, her nurturing heart, and her unwavering commitment to those she loved and served. Her legacy lives on in every student she encouraged, every family member she uplifted, and every friend she brought joy to along the way.
A private memorial will be held by the family to honor Debbie's life and memory.
She will be deeply missed-and forever remembered.
