Jo Ellen Sibley

Of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, at the age of 72.

Jo was born on April 1, 1953, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Warren Green and Deloris (Burdick) Morgan-Weaver. She grew up in Holt before moving to Laingsburg, where she graduated with the Class of 1971.

She began her career with General Motors, working on the assembly line until her retirement in 1990. Jo later trained as an EMT and served with the Albion Area Ambulance Service. She later worked as a flight attendant with Great Lakes Aviation, embracing the opportunity to travel and meet people, including Tom Izzo and George Perles.

Family was always at the heart of Jo's life. She was affectionately known as Jo Mama. THE fierce protector of all the people and things she loved. She raised her children in Lansing before moving to Duck Lake in 1992, where she enjoyed 23 wonderful years by the water. She also cherished time at her family's getaway on Horsehead Lake, where fishing was a favorite pastime. At home, Jo loved crossword puzzles, a good game of Scrabble, and the simple joys of being surrounded by loved ones.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her son, Kristopher Mahoney; her brother, Richard Green; brother-in-law. Harry "Bud" Sibley and sister-in-law Barbara Sibley.

Jo spent the past 45 years with and is survived by her loving husband, Gene Sibley; daughters, Kelly (Will) Wilson and Shawn Jezak; grandchildren, Megan Jezak (Jon), Matthew Jezak (Lizzy), and Scotty (Morgan) Jezak; Tyler Prus (Calilea), Austin Prus, Austin Wilson and Blake Wilson; great-grandchildren Skyler J. and Azalea W.; brother, Bruce (Larry) Green; sister, Tina Hill (John); sister-in-law Myra Foster; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Darren) Meggars, Heather (Kevin) Morris, Holly Green, Michael Sibley, Lisa Levesque, Elysia Hill, Emily Hill, and Elizabeth Hill; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
