Delmer Adams passed peacefully through the gates of Heaven July 17, 2025, with his family surrounding him. He was born June 28, 1934, to Amos and Lula Adams. He traveled the United States driving an 18-Wheeler from coast to coast. He loved hunting and fishing. Delmer was a member of Darlington Community Church and truly enjoyed the fellowship with all the congregation. He will be remembered by many for his hugs and jokes. He never met a stranger.
Delmer is preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Lula Adams; his wife, Juanita; his siblings, Annamae Andawatha, Grace Price, Hosie Adams, Frank Adams, Irene Burkett, Merle Teal, and Virgil Adams; and grandson, Christopher Lawrence.
He is survived by his children, Marie Lawrence (Butch), Janie Griffith (Bobby Gunter), Laurie Truett, Tony Suber (Jan), Angie Oswalt (Warren Chip), and Sonya Cohn (Chuck); grandchildren, Candace Wade (Richard), Shannon Truett, Robin Wicker, Keith Lawrence, Michael Oswalt, Emily Suber, Chelsea Cohn and Trevor Cohn; great-grandchildren, Gavin Wade (Emma), Dustin Wicker, Mason Wicker, Levi Wicker, Landon Wicker, Colby Wicker, and Faith Cline; and a host of family and friends.
Those asked to serve as pallbearers are: Don Adams, Richard Wade, Kurt Hritz, Tony Sunday, Keith Lawrence and Colin Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be: Clifton Hall, Drexel Peterson, Nick Glover, Maddox Glover, Craig Omura and Morgen Glover.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the chapel of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home at 1474 State Highway 83 North in DeFuniak Springs, Florida, beginning at 2:00 p.m with Pastor Jimmy Mashburn and Pastor Dewayne Geoghagen officiating. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior, committal will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Flowers will be excepted.
Arrangements and services are under the direction of Davis-Watkins Funeral Home of DeFuniak Springs.
