Delores Jones, 87 of
Malvern, IA, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025 at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at the Charles E. and Florence M. Lakin Community Center in Malvern.
Burial will be in the Malvern Cemetery.
Visitation at the Lakin Center will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Loess Hills Funeral Home in Malvern is caring for Delores and her family.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Tabor Nazarene Church in Tabor, IA.

Delores Maxine Jones, 87, of
Malvern, IA, passed away Monday, June 2, 2025, at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA.
Delores was born on September 8, 1937 near Pacific Junction, IA, one of nine children of Chester Alvin and Eva Katherine (Powles) Smith. She graduated with the Class of 1955 from the Glenwood High School in
Glenwood, IA. Delores worked at the Glenwood State Bank for 14 years and then was in the accounting department at the Glenwood Resource Center for 23 years until her retirement in February 2000.
Delores and Harold Dean Jones were united in marriage on June 5, 1959 at the Glenwood Church of the Nazarene in Glenwood and made their home in Malvern.
Delores was a member of the Tabor Nazarene Church in Tabor, IA. She enjoyed traveling, loved to paint, was an avid reader, and had a great interest in genealogy. Delores and Harold were proud of their missionary trips to Tahiti and Ecuador, with multiple trips to the Dominican Republic. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the US, having visited all but four states. They especially enjoyed their eight trips to Alaska and five to Hawaii. Delores and Harold also traveled twice to Ireland, Scotland and England.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Eva Smith; in-laws, Clair and Avis Jones; infant children, Dennis and Denise; sisters, Mary Smith and Nellie Smith; brothers, Charles Smith and wife Wilma, and Sidney Smith; sisters-in-law, Barbara Smith and Nancy Irvin; and brother-in-law Donald Jones.
Delores is survived by her husband of almost 66 years, Harold Jones of Malvern; son Ricky Allen Jones and wife Lori of Red Oak, IA; daughter Tammy Marie Jones of Omaha, NE; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Max Smith of Grand Junction, CO, and Keith Smith and wife Linda of Springfield, MO; sisters, Judy Auxier and husband Keith of Silver City, IA, and Carolyn Johnson and husband Max of Glenwood; brother-in-law Bob Jones and wife Dorothy of Gardendale, AL; sisters-in-law, Janet Donelson of Calamus, IA, and Marie Donelson and husband Jim of Davenport, IA; many nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
