Dennis Darrell Cooper, 75, loving husband, father, and grandfather, died on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Dennis was born on October 22, 1949, in Cains Store, Kentucky to William and Lila (Withers) Cooper. His family moved to Delaware County, and he would graduate from Delta High School in 1969. On February 27, 1978, he married Delinda Pennycuff and the two would make their home in Eaton.
Dennis worked for RockTenn in Eaton for over 46 years, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the United Steel Workers Local 7-1106.
He was a hard-working, family-loving man with a heart of gold. He loved to laugh, camp, tinker in his garage, but most of all, he loved his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Delinda Cooper; children: Michelle Conway, Jason Cooper, and Nathan Cooper (Jennifer); nine grandchildren: Ashley, Amanda, Jessica, Lacy, Heaven, Shawn, Sara, Landon, and Addison; his sister, Shirley Allen (Harold); as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his daughter, Miranda Cooper and his siblings, Howard Cooper and Freida Whitaker.
Memorial Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Pitman-Richman Funeral Home 200 S Hartford St., Eaton with Brian Waters officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Muncie.
Friends and family are invited to gather at the funeral on Monday, starting at 11:00 a.m.
