Perry Hall, Maryland – Dennis (Denny) Wayne Lego, a devoted family man, respected public servant, and beloved community figure, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, wisdom, and profound generosity.
Born on August 19, 1939, in Baltimore, Maryland, Dennis shared 64 beautiful years of marriage with his loving wife, Luise.
Dennis dedicated three decades of his life to Baltimore City, serving with distinction as a Bureau Chief. In this pivotal role, he expertly managed all data processing systems for the city, a testament to his keen intellect and dedication.
Beyond his professional achievements, early on, Dennis was deeply involved in developing the soccer program through the Perry Hall Rec Council. He also found immense joy coaching rec baseball, helping young athletes develop their skills and find respect for their teammates.
Throughout his accomplished career, Dennis received numerous awards and accolades. He was also an active and valued member of both the Maryland Finance Officers Association and the Government Officers Finance Association.
Dennis cherished time with his beloved family above all else. He found immense joy in trips to Ocean City, Maryland, savoring good food and the simple pleasure of fishing. He was renowned for his ability to offer insightful and invaluable advice to his family members. Dennis will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his great sense of humor, generous spirit, keen wit, and incredible wisdom.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Luise Sandner Lego (nee) Miller. He was a devoted father to Deborah Oteyza and her husband Adrian, Lisa (Shelley) Hicks and her husband Jeff, and Jonathan Lego. He was also a cherished grandfather to James Hicks and his wife Erin, Kiersten Oteyza, Brian Hicks and his wife Nicole, Kylan Oteyza and his wife Kellie, Kacie Oteyza, Keeton Oteyza, and Makayla Lego. He was also a great-grandfather to Riley and Avery Hicks.
A celebration of Dennis's life will be announced at a later date.
