Dennis Miller Obituary

Dennis Raymond Miller, 79, of Forman, ND entered his heavenly home on July 5, 2025, at Four Seasons Health Care Center under the care of CHI Health at-Home Hospice.
Dennis was born on July 27, 1945 in Oakes, ND to Clayton and Francis (Harens) Miller. Dennis grew up getting up early to help get chores done before school. He attended school in Forman, where he played football and basketball. He graduated from Sargent Central High School in 1963. Following high school, Dennis continued his family's milking operation and farming.
Dennis married Lois Martin on October 21, 1967. They were blessed with two children: James and Janelle. Throughout his life, Dennis remained closely tied to the rural community. He continued farming and trucking for many years. After 48 years, Dennis retired from full-time farming in 2011, but continued trucking until 2016. With farming in his blood, he couldn't stay away for long. He enjoyed helping area farmers and took particular joy in assisting Bill and Janelle with their farming operation. Dennis had a passion for antique tractors, watching sporting events, and playing cards with family and friends. Dennis was a devout, lifelong member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, which was a deeply important part of his life. Over the years, he also served as a substitute bus driver, a member of the Forman Fire Department, Dunbar Township board, the Knights of Columbus, and the Wild Rice Tractor Club.
In September 2021, Dennis became a resident of The Villas Assisted Living in Forman, where he enjoyed spending time working on puzzles with residents, family, and friends. Even after moving in, he continued to make it to the farm during the summer months, where he loved mowing lawn and tinkering with equipment. In June 2025, Dennis moved to the Four Seasons Health Care Center in Forman, where he resided until his passing.
Grateful for having shared his life; his children; James Miller, Fargo, ND, and Janelle (Bill) Beaver, Forman, ND. Five grandchildren; Kia (Luke) Layman, Haslet, TX, Tia Gilles, Fargo, ND, Tyler (Brianna) Beaver, Forman, ND, Tiffany (Grant) Haverland, Colfax, ND, Torie Beaver, Forman, ND. Five great-grandchildren; Cullen, Carter, Barrett, Aviana, and Cooper. He is also survived by one brother; Donald (Judy) Miller, Mallard, IA, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents; Clayton and Francis Miller, sister; Marlene Mischke, brother-in-law Roland Mischke, brother; Clayton (Gene) Miller and sister-in-law; Tresa Miller.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Forman, ND. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery near Forman. The service will be live streamed.
