Dennis D. Rath, age 80 of North Branch passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 at his residence.
Dennis was born on September 15, 1944 in Pipestone to parents, Dale and Mavis (Jordt) Rath. He attended Pipestone Schools and later enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. Dennis married Annette Dombrock on May 20, 1967 in San Diego, California while he was still serving in the Navy.
Dennis returned home from his military duties and worked as an automotive mechanic for several years before taking a job working at Westin-Nielsen Furniture Manufacturing where he eventually retired. He loved wood working and going to breakfast at the Swedish Inn in Lindstrom and the Kaffe Stugga in Harris.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Annette; sons, David (Jade) Owens of Stacy and Bob Rath of Range, WI; brothers, Bill (Lynn) Rath of Sioux Falls, SD and Richard Rath of Fairmont; sister, Debbie Kavanaugh of Pipestone; his two grandchildren, Julie Owens and Ross (Mirada) Owens as well as his two great granddaughters, Abigail Holl and Olivia Owens. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Craig and Kim.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
