Denvil Handley Obituary

He was born on September 17, 1931 to the late Harry and Virginia (McCallister) Handley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Handley; son, Randy Handley; great-grandson, Wesley Craig; brothers: Jack and Dick Handley.
Denvil was a proud Army Veteran having received many medals, including a Bronze Star for his service. He was also a member of the Appalachian Fiddlers.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Heather Patton (Matt Hall), Jamie Harper (Joey), Kristen Thornton (Justin Shelton) and Amber Bird (Justin); great grandchildren: Caleb Shamblin, Jaidyn Patton, Jordon Patton, Chelsey Craig, Charles "Bub" Craig Jr., Chloe Craig, Caden Craig, Emily Call, Hayley Call, Logan Call, Olivia Call, Coltin Johnson, Aubreigh Bird, Hunter Bird; great-great grandchildren: Paisley Shamblin, Kenzie Taylor, and Draven Holt, nephew, Richie Handley (Beth), sisters: Sue Cassidy and Joyce Hayes.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to John, Inky, Kim, and Eric for all their help during this time.
Funeral Service for Denvil will be 1:00 pm Wednesday March 5, 2025 at Chapman Funeral Home Hurricane, WV with Chaplain Pete Thompson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery Hurricane, WV.
Friends may visit with family one hour prior to the service.
