Derek loved life. He enjoyed reading, riding, and was always eager to learn something new. Derek was willing to help his family and friends in any way possible. He will be dearly missed.
Derek's family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. until his celebration of life service, with an opportunity to share memories at 7:00 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 8459 Hall Road (3 blocks East of Van Dyke), Utica. A memorial service is currently being planned to take place in Benzie County, details will be updated as soon as the services are confirmed.
In honor of Tiny and Clifford, Derek's cats, memorials are appreciated to the Humane Society of Macomb, 11350 22 Mile Road, Utica, Michigan 48317 or to Benzie County Animal Control Shelter, 543 S.
