DeVon Hendrick Obituary

Mr. DeVon Nathaniel Hendrick, 40, of Chester, VA, unexpectedly transcended the bounds of this physical world; He entered eternal peace at Chippenham Hospital on December 12, 2024. He was the son of the late Josepha Baker.
DeVon graduated from Mount Vernon High School, Alexandria, VA, in 2003.
DeVon has been an employee of Public Partnership as an attendant/caretaker for the past 15 years. Due to various health issues, he recently became disabled.
DeVon was a home care provider and loved people. He enjoyed helping people, he was jovial and enjoyed laughing. He always had something nice or funny to say. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was well-liked by most.
DeVon was preceded in death by his mother, Josepha Baker, Grandfather, Joseph Hendrick Sr.; Uncle, Carl W. Hendrick; maternal great grandparents, Garland and Zelma Crute; paternal Great grandparents, George and Rosa Hendrick.
He leaves to mourn his son, Javontay Christian, Hampton, VA; Grandmother, Frances C. Hendrick, Chester, VA; and three aunts, Joyce Hendrick and Tammy Hepburn, Chester, VA; and Carolyn Hendrick, Alexandria, VA. One uncle, Joseph Hendrick, Jr., Petersburg, VA; Four great aunts, Clara Mae Farrar, Theresa Hendrick, Mary Thomas, and Florence Rogers. One great uncle, Anthony (Veronica) Crute; devoted cousin, Chauncee Hepburn; and Malike Evans. He also leaves behind a host of cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Petersburg Chapel of Bland Funeral Home, 137 Harrison Street. Petersburg. Rev. Calvin Lewis Sr., officiating. Public visitation will be held from 10am-8pm, Friday, December 20th at the funeral home.
