A lifelong area resident, Dexter James Landry was born on March 3, 1986, to Dana J. and Ellen Boudoin Landry, and was a 2004 graduate of Jeanerette Senior High School. As a CNC Machinist at AIT Machine Shop in Broussard, Dexter dedicated his days to crafting precision, all while embracing the hands-on nature that defined his skills.
Dexter had a passion for adventure and the great outdoors. He found profound joy in duck and deer hunting, where every outing was filled with excitement and camaraderie. He also loved fishing—especially bow fishing. He could often be found on his boat, where the water felt like home, and the thrill of the catch fueled his soul. He was a true friend to nature, finding tranquility and connection on the water.
Dexter was a beacon of kindness who never met a stranger. His home was a welcoming place, filled with laughter and love. As a devoted father and grandfather, he embraced the role of "Pop Pop" with a heart overflowing with pride and affection for his children and grandchildren. Family was paramount to Dexter, and his commitment to them was evident in both big gestures and daily expressions of love. He will be deeply missed.
Dexter is survived by his loving wife, Cheree Migues Landry; parents, Dana J. and Ellen B. Landry; children, Zachary James Landry, Noah Jude Landry, Taylor Migues (River Hebert), Blake Parks, Kennedi Parks, and Amilee Parks; grandchildren, Gunner Geoffroy, Levi Hebert, and Joelle Hebert; father-in-law, Bradford Migues; and beloved dogs, Bader and Jacques.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Landry, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Boudoin; mother-in-law, Margo Migues; and beloved dog, Dozer.
As we remember Dexter, we celebrate a man whose spirit touched all those who were fortunate enough to know him. His love for life and family, his camaraderie with friends, and his generosity will forever hold a place in our hearts. May he rest in peace.
