Diane Jeanette Bourget, age 77, of St. Michael, MN, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on March 19, 1948, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Diane was the daughter of Jens and Jeanette (Filtz) Anderson. She was raised on the family farm with her nine siblings. Diane graduated from Cadott High School in 1966, where she met her future husband, David Bourget, after asking him to the Sadie Hawkins dance. That spark led to a lifetime of love, and the two were married on August 17, 1968, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Cadott.
Diane wore many hats throughout her life-waitress, baker, and candy maker among them. She had a natural talent for making people feel at home, often remembering her regular customers' favorite orders and greeting them with a smile. But her most cherished role was that of homemaker. She was the heart of her family, and nothing brought her more joy than taking care of her children and grandchildren. Diane passed along her baking skills to her grandchildren, sharing both her recipes and her love in equal measures.
Known for her quick wit, sharp one-liners, and spirited personality, Diane had a gift for keeping everyone on their toes. She was kind, caring, and always ready to lend a hand. She was active in her community through the Church festival committees, Lions Club and St. Michael Homemakers – groups she enjoyed participating in for the comradery. Diane also enjoyed testing her luck at the casino and playing cards and bingo.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Jens and Jeanette; her brothers, Ray, Roger "Andy", Dick; and her sister, Dorothy Wikan.
She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 57 years, David; their children, Duane (Annalisa), Deanna (Wayne) Lenneman, Dennis (Jackie), and Darren (Heather); grandchildren, Victoria (Damian), Peter (Cecelia), Rachel (Derek), Becca, Joseph, Katie, Nicholas, Nathan, Jenna, Alex, Theresa, Kevin, and Koralyn; great-grandchild, Melanie, with two more great-grandchildren expected soon. She is also survived by her siblings, Jerome, Dolores (Ron) Reese, Beverly Laramy, Dave (Diane's twin brother), and Linda Holmes; her former daughter-in-law, Michele Brust-Bourget; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her deeply.
Evening visitation will take place Thursday, July 24, 2025 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM with prayer service beginning at 6:30 PM at The Peterson Chapel, 300 Main Street North, St. Michael, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place the following day on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM with visitation one hour prior at the St. Michael Catholic Church, 11300 Frankfort Parkway NE, St. Michael, MN. Inurnment will follow at the St. Michael Catholic Cemetery.

I thank Diane for all the rhubarb she gave us over the years. We made lots of jam, crisps, and pies thanks to her! She took care of our kids a few times after school when they forgot their keys. A kind and caring neighbor who will be missed.
