Dierdre "Dede" Spittler passed away on July 27, 2025, in Tyler, Texas. She was born on October 17, 1949, in Waco, Texas to Lowell Conrad Holt and Frances Jane (Puckett) Holt.
Dede was a dedicated registered nurse who devoted her career to caring for others. She worked at Rusk State Hospital and Christus Mother Frances Hospital, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of her patients and their families.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jodie Mason and husband David; sisters, Deborah Holt Bates and husband, Dr. David Bates and Trudy Holt Boyd and husband, Eugene Boyd; 2 grandchildren, Bethany Gossett and husband Dillon, Braydon Mason and fiancé Makenzie Mars; 4 great grandchildren, Layne Gossett, Coleson Gossett, Collins Gossett and Lainey Gossett; nieces, Ashley Taylor and Robin Taylor; friends, Cathy Champion, Sunday Hooper and Sara Dean.
Dede was preceded in death by her parents.
Dede's life will be celebrated at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. Friends and family are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
