DONALD S. BRANDON Donald S. Brandon peacefully passed away on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the age of 62. Don was born on February 3, 1963, to Tom and Dolly Brandon and grew up in Sherman, Texas. He was the youngest of five children. He attended Sherman High School, then Grayson Christian Academy where he graduated and later attended Dallas Baptist University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Education. After graduating from DBU he worked for the Institute of Basic Life Principles in Chicago where he met Michelle Sein. They began dating, and shortly after they were engaged to be married. They moved to Dallas, Texas where they awaited the birth of their first born. Don began working at Weir's Furniture Village and continued serving them for 27 years. Don was charismatic, honest, driven to serve, and was adamant about making people laugh. He loved serving others, home-cooked meals, listening to music and keeping up with sports, especially his Dallas Cowboys. He would often spend his mornings reading the Word of God, following the teachings of his beloved parents. He was extremely passionate and caring for his children whom he referred to as his "jewels." Don was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Tom Brandon and Dolly Brandon. He is survived by his four siblings, Thomas Brandon, Ginny Stringfellow, Susie Webb, Shari Blodgett, and his two children, Nicholas and Madeline Brandon. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Sherman at 1:00pm on Friday, September 12. The family requests in lieu of flowers that donations be made payable to the Ministry of Encouragement of First Baptist Church of Sherman.
