Donald Anthony Hunter, 91, of Port Orchard, Washington, passed away on June 26th, 2025. He was born on January 27th, 1934, in Detroit Michigan to Bernard and Catherine, and preceded by his brother Bernie. He was a devoted husband and is now joined in heaven with his beloved wife, Davina Grace Hunter.

His children, Mark (Deanna), Kathleen, Debra (George), and Steven; grandchildren, Justin (Aleah), Kristin (Justin), Jon (Brittany), Kaytlyn (Shawn), Nick (Jaclyn), Jessica, David (Kaylee), and Ryan; great grandchildren, Claire, Christian, Kaylee, Jameson, Thomas, Blake, Brooke, Mason, Ryland, and Orla.

Don served in the US Air Force during the Korean War as an Airborne Electronics Technician maintaining airborne radio, radar, and electronic counter measures (ECM).

While stationed in England he met and married his sweetheart of 58 years.

After leaving the Air Force, he went to college and received his electronics degree and then started his 29-year career with the Department of Defense as a Nuclear Engineer.

Don’s Christian faith was central to his life. He served as Sunday school teacher and Youth Pastor at the Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene, organizing youth camping and rafting trips.

His passion was white water kayaking and rafting and he ran two white-water adventure tour companies over the years in Washington and California. He also loved traveling with his wife in their RV.

Don will be remembered as a kind and generous man, devoted to God and willing to help anyone in need, family, friend, or charity. He left an impact on everyone he knew and will be missed dearly by all.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10am on Friday, July 25th at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard with a reception to follow.
