Donald Eugene Jones, 87, of Louisville passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center with his family by his side.

He was born on October 5, 1937, one of four children born to the late Thomas H. Jones and Laura E. Jacobs Jones. His brother, Frank McInnis precedes him in death.

Donald received his master's degree in education and started his career with the Catholic School System teaching. Later, following his true passion, he spent the next 18 years as a librarian where he continued with the Catholic School System, and retired after over 34 years of commitment to education.

Donald was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and was associated with the St. Joseph Orphan's Society. He was an avid bowler and was a music enthusiast. Donald also was a medic in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War Era.

In addition to his parents, and a brother; he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Martha "Diane" Lammers Jones.

Donald is survived by a sister Diane Finn, brother, Robert L. Jones (Dana Adams); and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am Thursday, July 17, 2025, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 6500 St. Bernadette Avenue, Prospect followed by burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 am until time of Mass at the church.

Memorial gifts in the form of contributions may be made to St. Joseph Orphan's Society.

I am just seeing Don´s obituary. We knew Don and Diane for many years from Mother of Good Counsel. They were both the sweetest people. May Don´s family find comfort in knowing that this lovely couple is together again.
