Hazel A. Derr, 92, of Elizabethtown went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 2, 2025. She was the daughter of the late John R. and Wavia M. (DeShong) Miller of Three Springs, PA.
Hazel graduated from Saltillo High School in 1950. After graduation, her career started at Phoenix Iron and Steel company in Harrisburg. After moving to Elizabethtown, she then worked for Warner Lambert in Lititz for several years. Later she was employed as secretary to the medical director at Wyeth Laboratory in Marietta. Her last full-time employment was as Admissions Director at the Masonic Village, Elizabethtown, before her retirement.
She is survived by her two children, a daughter, Teresa Rice wife of Michael of Elizabethtown, and a son, John Derr of Mount Joy; two grandchildren, M. Christopher Rice (Rayna) of Elizabethtown and Meghan Hornung (Nicholas) of Elizabethtown; two great grandsons, Reilly and Calum; three great granddaughters, Mia, Gracie, and Makenna; a sister, Inez Gracey of Waterfall, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Lane and brother, Richard Miller.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11AM at Miller-Finkenbinder Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 N. Market St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Interment will follow in Mount Tunnel Cemetery, Elizabethtown, PA. Family and friends are invited to view from 10AM until the time of service.
