Donald Wayne Slayton, of Richview, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at his home, at the age of 74. Born on January 20, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, son of: Lawrence Allen Slayton and Gladys Irene (Finney) Slayton.. Donald spent many years working at a uniform cleaning facility, where his strong work ethic and dedication greatly touched the lives of his colleagues. Outside of work, he cherished the simple joys of life, spending countless hours fishing and tinkering in his garage. Donald's heart was always full when surrounded by family, sharing laughter and creating cherished memories. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Sharon Slayton, who resides in Richview, IL. Together, they raised a wonderful family that reflects the love and dedication they shared. Donald is also survived by his three devoted children: Donyal Clark and wife Cheryl of Clarksville, Tennessee, Scott Slayton and wife Patricia of Litchfield, and Melissa Hart and husband Daniel of Okawville. His legacy of love and kindness continues through his grandchildren: Ashley Sieb and husband Travis Lynn, Tiffany Clark, Nathen Clark, Demetria Selmic, Terry Bates, Shelly Bates, Austin Hart, and Dustin Hart; and his great-grandchildren: Aurora Sieb, Ki Clark, Roy Glasco, Danielle Glasco, Heaven Glasco, and Alissa Hart. Brothers hold a special bond, and Donald is survived by his brother, Paul Slayton, and wife Pam of Point Pleasant, Missouri. He also leaves behind several cherished nieces and nephews Donald was preceded in death by his two infant daughters: Kimberly and Michelle, parents, granddaughter: Alissa Ann Hart, and 8 siblings. Per Donald's wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
