Donald Lee Walker, 81, of Clermont, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, with his wife and loving family by his side after battling dementia.
Born in Bloomington, Indiana on March 5, 1944, to the late Ruth L. Walker and Virgil C. Walker, Donnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He shared 29 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jeannie Walker, and built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and kindness.
Donnie is survived by his children: Tammy (Matt) Ortan, Cathy (Ted) Derricote, Jackie (Dennis) Beaver, John Walker, Gerald Ellingwood, and LeAndra (Todd) Elliott. He was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren and the doting great-grandfather to 15. He also leaves behind his sisters Patricia Walker, Zulla Wright, and Ruth Ann Smith. He is preceded in death by his brother, Lloyd Jean Walker.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Donnie spent 25 years at Jenn-Air before the company closed, later retiring from Micro Metal. His strong work ethic and dependability were matched only by the warmth he brought to everyone around him.
Donnie had a deep love for the Indianapolis Colts and IU Basketball and never turned down a game of Euchre with family or friends. He found joy in travel, always in search of a new watch to add to his collection and could often be found enjoying a classic old country western movie, a good meal, or something sweet.
Those who knew Donnie will remember him as a man who was always loving, loyal, dependable, and caring. He had a gentle soul, a generous heart, and was truly the kindest man you could ever hope to meet.
