Donna Abbott, age 76 of Newcastle, passed away Friday June 6, 2025. Donna Sue Rains was born October 17, 1948 in Azusa, CA, the oldest of four children born to Jessie Lloyd Rains and Ola Laverne (Orr) Rains. She was raised primarily in Beebe, AR where she attended school. Donna was the proud mother of four children, sons Bobby and Paul and daughters Barbara and Mandy. She stayed busy as a homemaker, caring and providing for her young family. By 1980, the family had settled in Okla. City. They later lived in Norman for a time before settling in Newcastle. Donna was an excellent cook. She looked forward to family get togethers, loved planning theme parties and will forever be remembered for her tacos and dinner rolls. Donna enjoyed tending to her flower gardens and never missed an opportunity to go fishing. She was a woman of great faith and longtime member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church. She will be dearly missed!
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Jessie Lloyd Rains and Ola Lavern Rains and her brother, Dennis Rains.
Donna is survived by: her children, daughters Mandy Doshier (Will) of Moore, Barbara Simpson of Norman and sons, Paul Looper (Sandra Toolate) of Norman and Bobby Looper of Russellville, AR; sister, Treva Hughes (Darrell Campbell) of OKC; her brother, Kevin Rains of Pauls Valley, OK; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Little's Chapel in Purcell. Burial will be at the Butler Cemetery, Alexander, AR. www.wilsonlittle.com.
