Dorothy W. Brendemuehl

10/04/1928- 07/19/2025

Dorothy Wilma Gloyd Brendemuehl went to her Eternal home on July 19, 2025.

Dorothy was born on October 4, 1928, daughter to the late Louella and Claude Gloyd in Portage, Wisconsin.

Her religious conviction was strong, and she was a member of various Lutheran churches throughout her life until she was no longer physically able to attend. She instilled her faith and the love of the Lord in her children at a very young age.

The cherished memory she will leave her family and friends was her tremendous talent for playing the organ or piano which she taught herself and played totally by ear. She took every opportunity to laugh and sing while playing the piano serenading her family and friends.

She was a loving stay-at-home Mom during her children's school years, but in later years experienced some factory environment and proudly worked on the Scenic Rail Dining train.

Dorothy is survived by her three children, Judith Mathison, David Brendemuehl and John (Donna) Brendemuehl, her grandchildren, Matthew (Alanna) Brendemuehl, Amanda (Michael) Parker, Abby (Jonathan) Helminick; great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her late husband Gilbert, parents, Louella and Claude, her sisters Frances, Arlene, Ruby, Vera, Fern, Lois, Opal, brothers William, Dale and Dorel, her son-in-law Elmer (Butch) Mathison and grandchild David Brendemuehl Jr.

A funeral service will be held at Wisconsin Memorial for immediate family only and then laid to rest in the Wisconsin Memorial Cemetery aside her late husband Gilbert.
